The IEU provides professional development for teachers and education support staff who work in Catholic and independent schools. The seminars, workshops and network meetings are tailored to the diverse needs of members including IEU representatives, teachers, support staff, education assistants.
IEU Professional Learning seminars are constructed using the expert knowledge of IEU staff. The IEU is committed to building professional skills and expertise in the education sector, through our Professional Learning program.
The IEU hosts online PL seminars on a variety of topics, including Renewal of Teacher Registration and Transition to Full Registration. Participants can view documents via their computers, while shared audio allows for presentation and discussion. This service provides an opportunity for country based members and those on leave to access our seminars all year round.
Early Career Teachers Network
The IEU facilitates Early Career Teacher Network Meetings. These meetings provide an opportunity for teachers in their first few years of employment to be part of an active and supportive network of fellow teachers. They provide an informal forum for discussing and exploring professional issues and engaging in professional learning.
The education sector is undoubtedly a rewarding one to work in but also one that is prone to burnout. As many as 50% of teachers leave the sector in their first 5 years, which is where the Early Career Teacher Network can provide support and advice.
Membership of the Early Career Teacher Network provides access to tailored professional learning opportunities, assistance and networking events. Support from both the IEU and fellow beginning educators is key to building a strong and rewarding career in education.
Membership of the Early Career Teacher Network can contribute towards your application to the TRBWA for transition to full registration.
